Selective branch and tree pruning is one of the services that we tend to be the proudest of in a way or where we are able to really show expertise we bring to the table as a tree service company. Without a doubt pretty much every house out there or area that has trees and plants that are going to need pruning at one moment or another. The way that we see it, the best results for a healthy tree is to prune on a regular basis at least once every two years or so. We have seen a lot of people and companies hack at a tree without considering the impact on the health of that tree. You want conscientious tree care that is precisely what we provide!
Pruning By Season
A lot of times just out of habit people will have us come in every two weeks or for some even every week. That is fine because if we are talking about taking care of your lawn or your flower garden as these areas need frequent monitoring. It is not that trees don’t need to be monitored so closely, but typically mature trees only need such maintenance once a year to address any newly dead or damaged limbs and excessive moss buildup. That is because trees grow at different speeds at different times of the year.
We feel obliged to talk about this subject because we find that people who have not experienced conscientious service provided to them might not be familiar with how we do. It is not about just hacking at branches. It requires thinking and careful selection of which branches and how much of it to remove and while preserving the overall health of your tree . Typically, we strive to inspect each branch evaluating and strategically reducing the overall volume of the tree with an effort to avoid major cuts (if possible).
How We Prune
While there are many different techniques to pruning and those techniques ultimately selected will depend on several factors. The type and size of the tree, level of trunk or limb damage, your personal preferences regarding shading and shape to name a few. We take an up close and personal approach often times employing a 'cherry picker' bucket for larger trees or even spikes, ropes and harnesses for the largest of trees, to get in close. Other businesses might use only ladders and a pole saw. That's good for shorter or younger trees. However, we specialize in those tasks whose size and scope are typically outside of the a home or business owner's 'DIY comfort zone'. Although we don’t rule out using pole saws and a good set of loppers for jobs that warrant such simplicity.
